About Dennis Antony

An experienced project management leader, with the capability to guide projects through day-to-day development, I have been with Winnipeg Environmental Remediations Inc.(WERI) for 25 years, initially as a Senior Project Manager (1996 - 2014), and now as Vice President of Business Development (2015 to the present). Building upon my formal education, initially at Kelsey Institute (now known as Saskatchewan Polytechnic), I earned a Renewable Resource Diploma (R.R.D.) in 1981, and my Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, from the University of Winnipeg in 1987. My work with WERI has involved environmental, construction project management, and resource management experience throughout the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon Territory, other remote northern communities and Manitoba. Project budgets range anywhere from $100 to I am proficient in a wide variety of soil, water and biomass field sampling techniques, as well as the development and implementation of best management practices for erosion and sediment control. Through ongoing technical training, and many years of experience in the field, I have accumulated a comprehensive knowledge of the general operating practices and policies of federal, provincial and territorial environmental programs and management of environmental remediation projects involving different substances including petroleum hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), asbestos, metals and other hazardous materials. Today at WERI, I have two primary focuses - field implementation and marketing. I am the safety first person. At our company, not one step is taken, until we are all assured that step has considered safety prior to anything else! I am responsible for the oversight of daily activities which range from all levels of human resource matters, as well as compensation planning, and the review and enforcement of policies and procedures. I provide solid recommendations that assist operations, in the achievement of their objectives, as they review progress, formulate strategic plans and prepare, as well as, complete project action plans. Detailed strategic plans are the basis of implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards, anticipating problems, and trying to resolve them before they happen. Settings such as school tour groups, environmental learning meetings, college level public forums and trade shows allow for an opportunity where a good exchange of information can occur. I never under estimate the power of an eyeball to eyeball discussion.
