SIGN GUYS- I have been a Las Vegas sign guy for almost 20 years. I was given a chance to jump into this business in 2001. Rich Larson of Vision Sign believed I had what it took to make it in the business and hired a 45 year old waiter with no sign experience while other folks thought I was "too nice". Well I'm coming up on 20 years and I'm still in the sign business so I guess it's still ok to be nice. During that time I put in a few years with Vision Sign. A great company where I learned a lot about the sign biz and had a chance to cut my teeth. From there I jumped to another sign company, Nevada Sign for a few years until Vision Sign asked me to come back. I worked there for a few more years before a 9 year stint at Federal Heath Sign made itself available. At Federal Heath I had a chance to work on some very eye catching projects at Crystals Mall.(Federal Heath subcontracted with Hartlauer Signs on much of the custom sign work at Crystals- whether it be 8' tall Stainless Steel letters for Dolce' Gabbana that looked like they had melted on the multi angle black glass or 8' tall custom letters for Fendi that replicated very expensive and very heavy Italian glass. Not only did we save the client a ton of money, we were also able to overcome engineering issues with the letters now being custom made with a mix of polymers and additives and now weighing 150 lbs per letter vs 1500 lbs with letters that hang over the walkway on LV Blvd. Eventually Federal Heath decided to close their LV office in 2018. Enter Hartlauer Signs and the opportunity to work with the most talented sign people I have ever met, led by Jesse Hartlauer, the most talented sign guy I have ever worked with. We have built some really wonderful projects together and I am posting them for all to see like the piece we just did in unison with the Neon Museum and their 2020 Artist In Residence-Victor Ehikhamenor, a Nigerian visual artist, writer, and photographer, once described as "undeniably one of Africa’s most innovative contemporary artists".
