About Dennis Ehlers

Dennis Ehlers is Chief Executive Officer of VertX Enterprise Solutions, a provider of information technology services to government and commercial clients. He is responsible for business strategy, client relationships, operations, contractual, and legal functions. Mr. Ehlers leverages more than 25 years of executive leadership and legal experience specializing in IT service contracting, manufacturing, construction, supply chain, and GSA Schedule contracts. In addition to government contracting, he has practiced law in the areas of healthcare, medical malpractice, defense, employment, and government ethics. Prior to founding VertX, Mr. Ehlers was a founding member of the law firm of Asmar, Schor & McKenna, PLLC, in Washington, D.C. He represented large companies and small socioeconomically disadvantaged business clients in bid protests, contract disputes, claims and lawsuits before the federal contracting authorities, the boards of contract appeals, and the GAO. Mr. Ehlers’ 20 years of military service began in 1984 with the U.S. Army Reserve, where he was graduated as The Distinguished Honor Graduate of the Combat Medical Specialist Course, in which he was trained to give emergency medical treatment to battlefield casualties. In 1992, he joined the U.S. Air Force JAG Corps, serving as an active duty Judge Advocate in several positions including, Government Contracts Attorney and Medical Law Attorney. He concluded his service with the U.S. Air Force Reserve, serving as a Contract Trial Attorney defending the Air Force against bid protests and contract claims. Mr. Ehlers earned an LL.M.(Master of Laws) degree with Highest Honors, from the George Washington University. He received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree (Cum Laude) and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Southern College. Mr. Ehlers is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
