I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 23 years, and held senior, strategy-setting roles in the field of small molecule drug discovery and drug delivery with GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals (21 years) and a startup, biopharmaceutical company Sunesis Pharmaceuticals. As a medicinal chemist, I acquired extensive experience across multiple target protein classes and therapeutic indications, and developed a record of success exemplified by the progression of several compounds into clinical development. Since 2008, my efforts have been highly externally focused, and I have been involved in several external collaborations involving drug delivery biotech companies and academic groups centered around drug discovery efforts.
