About Dennis McCarter

I am a driven and hard working gentleman looking for opportunities in the wine industry. My main area of focus is winemaking and cellar work; I’m currently taking a course for enology at the Santa Rose Junior College and startied a wine brand in 2022. I started making wine as a garage enologist 10 years ago, beginning with 5 gallon batches to eventually barrels of wines that racked up many amateur awards. But legally, I couldn’t sell my wines. At the time, my day job was running an insurance agency for 13 years while teaching judo at my nonprofit club. In December 2013, I was awarded the Spirit of Sonoma award by the Sonoma County economic board for business and donating time and service to the community of Santa Rosa. After the Tubbs and Nuns fires in 2017, it became difficult to conduct business. Near the end of 2019, I sold my agency to persue a career in wine, turning my passion for winemaking into a profession. I have been a wine professional in different capacities ever since.
