He was previously CEO of Landmark Hospital Joplin, a Long Term Acute Care Hospital in Joplin, MO. As the 4th CEO in 3 years, he is credited with stabilizing the underperforming facility by the consistent use of sound management techniques, building an outstanding leadership team, and the application of service excellence programs. He also led the hospital through the community recovery after the devastation of the F5 tornado on May 22, 2011. Mr. Nicely has held operational positions in LTAC, Acute Rehab, and Acute Care hospitals. As CEO for Kindred Hospital Indianapolis, his hospital was ranked number one, based on financial, quality, and service criteria. As Program Manager with Milestone Healthcare, he received the President's Award, the top honor for the company's operational managers. As Associate Administrator in Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, he was responsible for combining two previously competing hospitals into one newly constructed facility. Mr. Nicely began his career in healthcare as a Medical Service Corp Officer in the U.S. Army. He received the Ranger Tab, Airborne Wings, and Expert Field Medic Badge. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He served as a 2nd Lt, Medical Platoon Leader, in the 82nd Airborne Division, and 10 years to the rank of Major in several reserve medical units. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, has served as a board member of the Indiana Healthcare Executives Network, and several times on Regent's Advisory Councils. He also has served in numerous community service organizations including Rotary International, and the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Nicely earned his BS from Penn State University, and his MHA from Texas State University.
