About Dennis Sonnier
I started the oilfield in 1994 with Ensco Drilling onboard jack-up drilling rigs. Worked my way from roustabout to floor hand. I took a position with Danos & Curole working construction jobs on lift boats decommissioning platforms. After working my agreed upon time in construction, Danos & Curole contracted me to BP in operations working 7 & 7 rotation. While home for 7 days, I attended classes at ERTC training center for gas lift, compressors, electrical, etc. Through my operations career, I took a company job with Apache when BP sold the shelf facilities. After working with Apache, I accepted a company position back with BP on Atlantis as a production operator. While on Atlantis, I was appointed to oversee the preparation for TAR projects. After the TAR, I stepped up into the role of Area Authority managing SIMOPS and approving all control of work procedures in line with company standards. From Atlantis I moved to Thunderhorse still in the Area Authority role managing day to day operations, SIMOPS issues and being the point of contact for all control of work requirements
