About Deny Dotson

Deny Dotson joined the Hot August Nights team as Executive Director in October 2022. He lead the Virginia City Tourism Commission from 2012-2022 as Executive Director. Prior to joining the VCTC, Dotson worked for Storey County as the Director of Community Services for two years where he managed all of county's special events, parks and recreation activities, website, and served as the county’s Public Information Officer and liaison to all of Storey County’s non-profit organizations. From 1987-2009, Dotson was a Sales/Account Manager for Anheuser Busch, Earthgrains and Sara Lee. Throughout his 20 plus years in the baking industry, he has had the fortune of being involved in several national marketing and advertising campaigns, new product and market introductions and account management including several regional and national customers. He credits his extensive sales, marketing and event management experience as the foundation for his current position with Hot August Nights. Dotson has lived in Nevada since He served as a Storey County School Board Trustee for two terms, continues to serve on Storey County's Nevada Department of Wildlife Advisory and Historic Fourth Ward School Board(s) and as chairman on the Nevada Commission for the Reconstruction of the V&T Railway. He also loves traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife Ronele and their seven grandchildren.
