About Deon Cerff

I come with an accounting degree and more than 25 years of audit and technology experience. I spent 11 years in leadership roles in internal audit within the banking industry and the balance in audit and consulting roles, specialising in financial services. In my career, I have developed and implemented audit approaches and methodologies which have given me a strong understanding of business, risk, and technology fundamentals. Apart from delivering technology work, I am responsible for transforming our audit delivery model to create and implement a remote delivery centre. I am designing and implementing governance structures to delivery quality audits for technology. My financial services experience spans corporate and investment banking, retail banking, asset management, and stockbroking. Specialisations include trading processes, lending activities, risk and exposure management, settlement processes, enterprise risk management, and client money regulations. Together with my technology and controls specialisation I have extensive experience in infrastructure security, technology resilience, cyber security, data management, third party management, programme assurance, and technology governance.
