About Deon Milardo

A holistic-driven registered nurse with seven years of LTC, acute-care, psychiatric substance abuse and ICU detox, homecare, and as a nurse consultant for DDS. I am grateful to have such a broad background in my short nursing career, as each position molded me into a better nurse and person. I currently work in different areas of nursing, such as home care and psychiatry. I genuinely love the mental health population and the daily challenges I face to advocate for everyone I serve. I am proud to be the voice for the individuals and honored to facilitate their medical plan of care and life transitions. I have a strong passion for psychiatric nursing. As a nurse, to be present during one’s life as one transitions day by day toward their goal is an absolute honor and privilege. I have many goals in life, and the biggest dream was to become a nurse; this I did succeed in; however, I desire more. If I can see it, my future is filled with psychiatric nursing as an APRN with an end goal of a DNP degree. Nursing is not easy, but I did not get into it for its difficulty; I became a nurse to change lives and impact my generation of nurses and the future nurses that I may see when I am on the other side as a patient. “To do what nobody else will do, a way that nobody else can do, in spite of all we go through that is to be a nurse.” – Rawsi Williams
