About Deon Rossouw

I am an entrepreneur that thrives on innovation. My strength is the ability to see the big picture and unpack complexity into simplicity. I surround myself with experts and rely on my networking skills to create the gateway for a favourable outcome. My career have been a journey of ups and downs in creating new business enterprises and striving to make them successful. After leaving school, I had a successful career in the South African Air Force as pilot and flight instructor during 1983 - 1997. After leaving the military, a very rewarding period followed at Eskom (national power utility of South Africa) as pilot and Manager of the Rotary Wing during 1997 - 2003. After forming and growing helicopter air services firm Chopper Worx (#chopperworx.com) in 2003, Elektra Power (#elektrapower.com)- a High Voltage Power line firm - was formed 2017. During 2014, I co-founded ECW (#ecw-drc.com) in the Demographic Republic of the Congo, focussing on providing services in the power line industry. The next endeavour followed and during 2018, I invested in startup electronic technology firm WiPo Wireless Power (#wipo-wirelesspower.com), pioneering the transfer of industrial power (500-watt) wirelessly. Then in 2019, I co-founded the scientific laboratory firm Material Technology Solutions and also invested in Heartwood Sustainable Solutions (#heartwood.international). Between these two companies, successful international patenting was achieved to modify soft pine wood into a hardwood. Finally, forming UAV firm Bekwa Technologies in 2022 completed the process. We have pioneered the use of drones in ways not thought of before.
