I would like to place emphasis on the strengths based approach for all my clients. With all of the coursework that I have taken, I feel I am well prepared to make this happen.The first opportunity for hands on experience I was able to get, I took it. As an occupational therapy intern I observed, first hand what goes into the planning process for patients. I spent a lot of time building a rapport with patients, making them comfortable in the therapy setting. This rapport allowed patients to trust me with their concerns, and I was able to communicate those back to the therapist in charge of their care. As an intern with Greensboro Parks and Recreation Activity Inclusive Recreation (AIR) I was able to plan and fill out documentation for their community outings, as well as plan the fall dance.All my life I have had the take charge attitude. I am proactive and detailed oriented, this will ensure that my patients will get the best care possible.
