About Derek Arnson

I was the Chief of Police of an amazing team of professionals. Our team consisted of approximately 89 members. Our work setting provided us the opportunities to engage in local, state and international law enforcement. The City of Nogales, Arizona sits on the international border with Mexico as our neighbor to the immediate south. Relationships were the key to our success. These relationships were with our community and with the community of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Our culture and ethnicity is primarily that of Hispanic descent. Our crime rates have continued to drop double digits over the last three years. A large part of the decline in crime can be attributed to strong coalitions between our local, state and federal law enforcement partners and with our community. The Nogales Police Department prides itself with providing the highest levels of professional public safety that should be expected of any law enforcement agency.
