About Derek Blauser

Hey! I'm Derek, and growing up I was obsessed with numbers and logistics. I was always wondering "How does that work? Why is it that way? What's the answer? What's the best way to get there?" I loved the structure of numbers and systems so much that I studied accounting and economics in college. I put that skill set to work upon graduation, but living in New York City can open doors you never knew you were looking for! After many years of amazing work in hospitality, fast-paced startups, and scrappy small businesses (not to mention some passion projects along the way), I got hungry for the systems and structure side of things again- while still holding on to the creative side that I explored during these years. Nowadays, I'm a full-stack developer who still has a wild obsession with live music, art, and record collecting. My specialties are HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, React, and full-stack web development, but of course I am always game to chat operations and logistics.
