About Derek Bracey

With five years of experience in education, in person and remote,I am a passionate and skilled mathematics teacher at Canton R-V School District and an online learning support specialist at Cuyahoga Community College. I have a master's degree in educational technology and specialist in education. I am pursuing a second master's degree in teaching technology and hope to begin a doctorate in education in the next few years. I aim to support teachers, students, and staff in using and implementing innovative and effective technology tools and strategies in online learning environments. I have developed and taught online curricula using various platforms like Connexus, Adobe Connect, and Pearson. In just two short years, I have worked on the backend of Blackboard, D2L, and Canvas to support higher education instructors and students. With these recent opportunities in the higher education setting, I’ve been able to take on a leadership role as a Nearpod administrator for Cuyahoga Community College to set up potential trainings, provide resources, and solve any possible issues. I have also collaborated with colleagues nationwide to discuss data, curriculum, and company goals. My curriculum development and technology expertise will benefit my future career goal as a leader in curriculum development and coordination and an effective professor of education.
