About Derek Brehm

I am Derek Brehm, I am currently a product flow specialist with Best Buy, as well as a seasonal Landscaper. Formerly, I was the Merchandising Manager at Dick’s Sporting Good’s in Grand Island, NE. I have a very diverse job experience, as I became a business owner of Brehm Builders in 2014. My dad and I were general contractors where we mostly remodeled old homes. We specialized in tile and countertops, but did countless other jobs such as doors, windows, cabinets, trim, paint, drywall, framing, siding and basically everything under the roof. While being a business owner, I was also going to school full time online where I graduated from Southeast Community College in Lincoln, NE with an Associates Degree in Business. I then took a part time job at Dick’s Sporting Goods where I found a very steady work flow that was very rewarding as I love everything sports related. After a year of part time work at Dick’s, I decided to pursue a department lead position where I then put my construction business on the back burner and went part time with Brehm Builder’s. Though I miss the rewarding nature of completing numerous tasks of a general contractor, I find that my latter management position in sports retail is very rewarding. I strive to learn and educate myself on how to take everything I do and make it that 1% better.
