Husband. Dad. Pastor. I’ve been with Southern Pine for right at 18 years, now. I started as an apprentice linemen and worked my way to journeyman. Experience includes but not limited to: Extensive work in both overhead and URD field. Splicing and terminating URD cable. Digging and trenching for URD cable. URD transformers. Overhead banking (2 pot and 3 pot). Hot work, including, setting poles in line; splicing and repair of damaged wire, pole structure changeouts, installation of transformers, capacitor banks, automated metering equipment.(Overhead and URD). Knowledge of 3 phase power. Digger and bucket truck work. Training apprentice linemen in all areas of line work. Troubleshooting and repair of both overhead and URD power systems. In 2018 I took a job as a Substation Technician. In this department we install, trouble shoot, and repair breakers (electronic, station, and OCR breakers) and regulators. Maintenance on anything and everything substation. Preform battery maintenance and change outs. Experience with use of Omicron (CMC 356) to relay test all substation and Omicron Arco to test electronic line reclosers. Troubleshooting of station transformers. Including TTR and Meggar checks. Monthly inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition. Repairs as needed. If it’s inside a fence at a Southern Pine substation, we do it. In 2022 my job title was changed to Relay Technician 1. My job duties were as above, with a heavier emphasis on testing and relaying. In April of 2023 I was promoted to Substation Maintenance Supervisor. I now supervise all Substation and Relay Techs. Pastor of small SBC church.
