Retired on June 30th, 2023 and exploring life that isn't squeezed in between work - writing a book. learning to play the guitar, volunteering at my church, and traveling a bit. Still open to exploring interesting opportunities if the opportunity presents itself. Derek Catlin is a subject matter expert on Multicloud Management in the Kyndryl Hybrid Cloud Services Center of Competency. In that role he is helping transform our industry to the next generation of IT service delivery. Derek has almost 40 years of experience in information technology, much of it with IBM, supporting customers and engagements across many industries. Derek has been in his current role - helping businesses manage and optimize hybrid cloud - since 2016. Prior to that he was a Principal Consultant and Enterprise Architect on the Transformation Services team at Wipro, in the Global Infrastructure Services practice. Prior to that he was a certified Cloud Advisor within the IBM Cloud Business Unit, responsible for growing sales and enhancing the recognition of IBM in delivering cloud-enabled IT and business solutions for the enterprise client. His areas of expertise include e-Business solutions design, ERP, I/T architecture and governance, Cloud, Smarter Commerce, Analytics, and a thorough understanding the application of best practices in helping clients solve business and technology problems. Derek has a passion for IT and business strategy and has worked with clients in many industries, including Distribution, Retail, Travel and Transportation, Healthcare, Public Sector, and Financial Services. Since August of 2022 Derek has been focused on developing Kyndryl's offerings in Modern Operations, specifically focused on FinOps. Derek recently certified with FinOps.org as a FinOps Practitioner.
