About Derek Charette

My professional experience has been through both my job at Turkey's Party Makers ltd, Best Buy Canada, and through my schooling at the Art Institute of Vancouver. I am currently in a Sales Associate position in the Computers department at Best Buy Canada where I have learned and improved my team work and interpersonal skills, as well as my knowledge in newer computer technology. During my time at Turkey's Party Makers ltd. as a senior member of the staff there I have some managerial experience and experience in helping introduce new employees into the workplace and training them in their positions. At the Art Institute of Vancouver I have had the experience of working in a simulated studio environment, working with artists and other programmers to create a playable game. My career goals are for the short term are currently to get my foot in the door of the gaming industry here in Canada. Long term my goals are to become an Artificial Intelligence programmer on games, and, as most people getting into the industry and those that are already there share being a part of a best selling game, if not a whole bunch of them.
