About Derek Coughlan

I am currently a Team Leader for Abtran in it’s Mailroom. It is my responsibility to plan each day to ensure that the Service Level Agreement is met. As the mailroom is the first point of entry for an application processing account, I work to ensure maximum productivity from the team to ensure that the following areas of the account don't come to a halt. I was previously the Team Leader for a team of Customer Service advisors who work in a front office setting. My role was to manage, encourage and drive my team to reach their goals and targets whilst delivering a positive customer experience. I am qualified in Early Childhood Care & Education from the Cork College of Commerce and also qualified in Community Education & Development from Cork Institute of Technology. In the past I have travelled to Belarus on 5 occasions to work with children and adults who experience disabilities.(More info in the Experience section) I spent 1 year working for Hope Community Resources Inc. in Anchorage, Alaska as part of their International Volunteer Program.(More info in the Experience section) I have a great deal of experience working with both children and adults who experience disabilities and this is the area in which I hope to be working full time.
