About Derek Diep

I am a Junior at UNT and am passionate about solving technical related issues within computer systems. I have always been amazed with the advancement of technology and its effects in society, communication, and leisure time. I pursue my interests by building my own computers, and attending computer conventions such as dreamhack or anything related to the gaming industry(Esports). My goal is to be able to graduate with my bachelors in order to create a successful future. The job is something that I want to enjoy until I retire and I think that doing IT support is perfect for me. I want to help educate older and non-familiar generations with the advanced digital age of computers and technology. I am looking for a career in being an IT support. The job has to be close to where I currently live and wish to be in a nice environment. It also has to focus on teamwork to help achieve issues involving information systems. I am looking for a job opportunity that can take advantage of my coding background in order to apply the knowledge I have learned from college. I am currently studying Information Technology Systems major with a focus on coding at UNT. I found that ITS was a much better fit for me because I enjoy working with people to solve technical problems. During my time as a computer engineer, I learned some programming language such as C++ and Java. During the summer of my sophomore year, I got an internship at a company called Fidelity Investments where they managed 401k and retirement plans. I applied to be a systems engineer given my major, and was assigned a partner to create a website that would allow the managers to see what type of errors employees make when writing a support ticket.
