About Derek Dodder

I have worked in Security Operations since 2011, when I joined the United States Marine Corps. I was Honorably discharged after two successful combat deployments to Afghanistan, working with a Special MAGTF, and working with the R4OG retrograde operation. For four years, I was trained as a 0621, Field Radio Operator. I regularly set up multiple nets, monitored those nets, dispatched from those nets, and passed mission critical information onto my Command & Control. While in I performed as a Training Officer, Supply and Maintenance coordinator with the Global Combat Support System (GCSS). There I was responsible for training subordinance and maintained and tracked over $5 million worth of communications gear. I was a Corporal of Marines. Once I was out of the services, I pursued my dream job in the entertainment industry, going to the Los Angeles Film School. I was a Production Assistant on many productions including Amazon’s hit series Bosch. There I was responsible for assisting the Locations Manager in coordinating extras, setting up signage, helping with scheduling, and fetching coffee for the crew. It was a great experience, and I maintain many of the relationships I made to this day. However, my path would take me in a different direction when I moved near family in Las Vegas Nevada. I started working with MGMRI, in 2018. I’ve been an Armed Security Officer, Dispatcher, Booth Officer, and a basic floor and hotel unit. I’ve met and maintained many connections in the Casino Industry and have a growing understanding of how to protect the public, serve the public, and protect company assets. During Covid, I worked for Chaos Security for 2 years before going back to MGMRI. There, I worked in the media department while pulling some security details. It was a small company with some of the most serious Security Operations professionals I have had the pleasure of working with, that include former Navy Seals, former Green Berets, an MMA fighter, and many other kinds of Security Professionals.
