Dr. Derek Emery is a Professor of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta. He was appointed Chair of the Department in 2016 and Clinical Department Head for Alberta Health Services in 2020. Dr. Emery is Medical Director for the Peter S. Allen Magnetic Resonance Research Centre. A graduate of the University of Calgary Medical School, Dr. Emery completed residency training in Radiology and Neuroradiology and fellowship training in Interventional Neuroradiology. He was awarded the Canadian Certified Physician Executive (CCPE) credential in 2016 and was named as a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Radiologists (FCAR) in 2025.
