About Derek Gonser

With the knowledge of materials I feel as if this experience will be a valuable asset as I go further along in my life in my career. I have nearly 5 years of experience and have gained much knowledge and certifications during this time consisting of WAQTC, ACI Field/Strength, CAPA A/B/I, Concrete pavement inspector, Traffic Control Supervisor, Transportation Environmental Control Supervisor, and a few more. Graduated with an AAS in Construction Management and maintained a 3.98 GPA through all years and universities. I started my education at the University of New Mexico studying architecture, but quickly realized my passion was Highway construction and I wanted to be more hands on than in the office as an architect. I transferred home to study Civil Engineering through Front Range CC and Metro State, however COVID really through a loop in this and I quickly lost the passion for school and developed more of an interest in work. On a day to day basis I find people with more field experience seem to have more expertise than those who are fresh out of school so I believe this is an advantage. I finished my education at Aims CC with an associates in Construction Management, and while not the most desirable degree, I just needed something on paper and believe between this degree and my expertise is more than enough for now to propel my career.
