About Derek Grant

I am currently a producer at Fox 6 in Milwaukee. I put everything I have into every show I produce, but I’m always learning and improving. As a veteran I know the importance of teamwork, communication and working as a team. These are key to making sure we provide the viewers with the best and most accurate information. Together we can accomplish anything. I have a never give up attitude. After suffering multiple brain hemorrhages from a cavernous malformation, I had brain surgery. That was in 2011. It left me with a disability that I still go to physical therapy for today. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2023 that’s been causing me pain for over a decade. In I lost my father. In 2016 I lost my first born son to a rare lung disease and last year I lost my mother to cancer. Despite the loss, and despite the setbacks to my health and the devastation of losing my military career, I refuse to give up and push harder every single day. Now to to a little more about me. I’m an avid movie watcher. I’m one of those who still has a CRT, VCR and more VHS tapes than anyone should actually own in 2025. I love tabletop games, but especially miniature games. I like to paint my miniatures as well. Helps me feel like I’m doing something creative in my hobby time. I’m also into video games. I was born and raised in Wisconsin so of course I have a cheese drawer in my fridge and yes I do have a cheesehead I wear on Sundays. If you want to connect and chat don’t hesitate!
