About Derek Gross

Derek Gross is the Senior Vice President of Finance and Strategy at Canpotex Limited based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Canpotex, the world's premier potash exporter, is an offshore marketing and logistics company owned by two Saskatchewan potash producers: Mosaic and Nutrien. In this role, Derek leads the Finance & Accounting and Sales Administration teams which involves typical CFO responsibilities including long-term financing, credit rating management, banking relationships, capital allocation, treasury management, budgeting, accounting, tax, credit and enterprise risk management. In addition, Derek leads the Strategy team which drives the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive company-wide strategic plan designed to capitalize on the company’s competitive advantages and long-term market outlook. He is a member of the Canpotex Executive Leadership Team and serves on the boards of directors of all subsidiaries in the Canpotex Group of Companies, and is Chairman of the board of directors and a member of the Audit and Finance Committee of Neptune Bulk Terminals (Canada) Ltd—a Canpotex affiliate. Derek graduated with a bachelor of commerce degree (marketing) from the University of Saskatchewan in 1996 and received a master of business administration degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2011. Derek’s leadership training includes the Cameco Leadership Development Program (2008-2010) and the Canpotex Executive Development Program (2016-2017).
