About Derek Guildford

From May 2021 to August 2022 Derek worked with Silicon Valley Bank, as a member of the Accounting Workstream contributing to SVB’s London Branch transition into a fully-fledged UK Subsidiary. This included rewriting accounting policies to align with IFRS, updating accounting processes, preparing and delivering training materials, and working with Global Finance and IT teams to deliver a wide range of business requirements.[Taking a career break between September 2022 and June 2023, Derek has travelled around New Zealand, set up a Board Games Group with his local U3A, joined local bridge, bowls and croquet clubs, invigilated for GCSE and A Level examinations and chauffeured tennis players and officials for the Eastbourne Tennis tournament.] Before his contract with SVB he worked for Southern Housing Group (2018 to 2021) as Lead IT Business Analyst, leading a small team in analysis and delivery of systems, processes and equipment to enable more efficient IT support of the customer relationships and property maintenance for circa homes in London and the South East, including specialist care and sheltered services on the Isle of Wight. From 2015 to 2017 Derek worked as a Senior Business Analyst at Investec, managing a team of nine BAs supporting a growing Business Intelligence environment, sourcing and providing data for frequent Credit and Regulatory reporting, as well as contributing to major projects such as IFRS9. In 2014_2015 he completed two projects at HSBC - IFRS 9 Impairment Project Data Dictionary and Global Stress Testing Data Quality. Prior to that he worked on the Markets Control team at RBS, where he managed the integration of daily data from a number of product systems into the central supervisory monitoring system. As a Finance Change Senior Business Analyst at RBS between 2009 and 2013, Derek worked on a number of projects, including-> developing functional specifications for the system enhancements to improve the accuracy of money market product flows on the RBS Liquidity Reporting Infrastructure systems.> managing the successful transfer of assets between legal entities (Unicorn project);> specifying and testing major changes to the Repo revaluation systems. In the past Derek Guildford worked in a variety of roles at Citigroup over a period of 29 years. Derek is a Certified Accountant (FCCA), Chartered Banker (ACIB) and has an MBA in Finance with Distinction from Manchester Business School.
