About Derek Harris

Hi, I'm Derek. I'm an LMHC currently in private practice with a Masters of Arts in Psychology from Seattle University. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and men's health/issues. I primarily work with adults. My therapeutic style is a combination of existential-phenomenology and mindfulness, leaning heavily into the embodiment aspect of both and incorporating movement practices from my yoga training as appropriate. I am also skilled at crisis intervention and de-escalation and have co-facilitated and created workshops and groups of various sizes, both in my yoga teaching and mental health practice, over the years.In my former life I was a program manager and financial analyst and used the skills I acquired to help folks file their taxes for several years in the United Way VITA program.
