About Derek Holland

With over 12 years of experience in the bicycle industry, it's safe to say I'm in it for the long ride. Racing, riding, shooting, and building bikes are my passions, and I strive to push the bar as high as it can go. My diverse background in construction and cocktail bartending has equipped me with a broad customer service skill set and mechanical know-how. Starting at "The Bicycle Entrepreneur" some years ago, I have worked for companies such as Giant South Yarra and The Freedom Machine in roles as both a bike mechanic and in sales. This experience has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of product and technical knowledge. Most recently, my work at Total Rush bike store has deepened my knowledge of the Specialized brand and fueled my passion for the industry. In addition to my industry knowledge, I am dedicated to pushing myself in competitive cycling, racing A grade Track, Road, and CX. My goals are to compete at a high level in all disciplines throughout the Victorian seasons, demonstrating my commitment to the sport. Beyond cycling, I have a keen interest in social media optimization and content production through photography and videography. I am proficient in Adobe Suite software, including Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Adobe Premiere, and I have a strong understanding of e-commerce and business management software.
