About Derek Holloway

I chose electrical engineering because I wanted to be challenged in my career. The idea of having the opportunity to push technology forward was incredibly exciting. In school, I loved my classes in microwaves and electromagnetics because the concepts were challenging but intuitive. Completing projects and seeing a working final product was always so exciting. I want to be a part of projects that help society and push technology forward. Family and country are very important to me. I am a proud American who comes from a military family. As an army brat I grew up on the move which taught me to be highly adaptable. Physical activity and music are two of my other passions. I play the piano and guitar, and I stay healthy by working out consistently and eating healthily. I believe that the key to a heathy mind is a healthy body and the key to innovation is creativity. That is why music and health are so important to me.
