About Derek Jensen

I am a Senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and I am working toward obtaining my Bachelor of Science in PGA Golf Management as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. My expected graduation date is in May of 2017, but it may take until December of 2017 depending on how the rest of my business classes work out for scheduling. My top five Gallup strengths are: futuristic, relator, achiever, competition, and adaptability. I have held internships at three different golf courses during my college career. I first worked at Mahoney Golf Course where as a Pro Shop Staff member where I did a lot with checking in golfers and also ran leagues and tournaments. My next internship was at Glen Oaks Country Club where I was a Pro Shop Staff member as well and I taught juniors, helped run camps, and did special ordering. My most recent internship was at Highlands Golf Course where I was a Pro Shop Staff member and helped with everything from food and beverage ordering, tournaments and leagues, teaching lessons, ordering merchandise, and working with booking banquets and other parties as well in the clubhouse. I am looking to find an Assistant or Head Golf Professional job once I graduate, but may also be interested in other sales and marketing jobs in certain industries such as automobiles, technology, and business.
