Background

About Derek Kepczynski

I started my journey in the automotive world at a young age, I have always been familiar with this industry since I have strong family ties to it. I have seen the research and development of internal engine components at MAHLE. That experience had opened my eyes to quality control, wind tunnel testing and CAD development, as I was an intern and a co-op student there for two years. I grew to enjoy the design of plastic components in the automotive industry, therefore, I started my schooling at Ferris state university to become a plastics & polymers engineer. During this time I had started my journey with Yanfeng automotive interiors as an AME intern, Industrial design engineering intern, and a Innovation engineer intern for the past 3 years. I am currently working as a Co-op student again for Yanfeng as an industrial design intern. Yanfeng has taught me all the stages in creating a well designed product in the view of the OEM customer, End user, and internal benefits. I am grateful to my peers, coworkers, and instructors for assisting and advancing my skill set; I am expecting to graduate from Ferris state university in the spring of 2023.
