About Derek Lau

Derek has worked in healthcare for the past 25 years. He holds a Masters Degree in Accountancy from Arizona State University and is a CPA licensed in Utah and Arizona. His healthcare career began during his days at Arthur Anderson where he audited hospitals and other non-profit entities throughout the Southwest. Following his stint in public accounting, Derek spent 12 years at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona, where he was involved in a building a new 50 bed hospital in the community and served as Controller before returning to his native Utah in 2015. For the past 9 years Derek has been part of the administrative team at Holy Cross Hospital - Mountain Point. He currently serves as the CFO at Holy Cross Jordan Valley, Jordan Valley West, and Mountain Point, part of the CommonSpirit Health system. Derek also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Fork Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Civil Air Patrol. When not at work, Derek enjoys spending time with his family, serving in his church and community, and exploring the beautiful Utah outdoors.
