About Derek Leo

I have completed two degrees at the University of Calgary in History and Secondary Social Studies Education. In going through these programs and their group-based assignments, I have been able to develop strong interpersonal, organizational, and communicative skills, along with an ability to build a good rapport with my project partners and faculty members. My retail and sales experiences especially have given me a deep understanding of what is needed to provide people with a deeply positive and enriching experience. This includes proper greetings and asking the right kinds of questions to find out exactly what their needs are and how to best assist them in reaching them. This also requires me to be knowledgeable in what the company and myself can offer them. Throughout my time in these stores, I have strived to offer the perfect customer service experience, and I hope to continue to do so, as creating a proper human and professional connection people is essential. Beyond this, in my personal experience I have gained a wealth of knowledge in tech, as I build, repair and operate computers in my spare time.
