About Derek Lunzmann

I am a System Operator at I work in the TOC (Technical Operations Center) as a Telecommunications analyst. I am familiar with a variety of TDM channelization equipment, fiber optic backbone equipment, microwave radios, IP technologies, P25 trunk radio systems, Cisco phone systems and more. In my day to day job I serve as the eyes and ears of the telecommunications network for NPPD. In my group we monitor our state wide fiber, microwave networks, channel bank systems in real time to help quickly diagnose any issues with service and dispatch techs as needed. I am very proficient with computers and a critical thinker. I also focus on network management of our WAN/LAN network with 400+ nodes using mainly Cisco network equipment. This includes remote office connectivity and up to our core network boxes. Monitor and troubleshoot the join State Radio System with the State of Nebraska Patrol. We are utilizing Motorola P25 Astro system with multiple agencies and over 50 towers across the state. My goal is to continue learning new things and working to always have well performing equipment with quick problem resolutions.
