About Derek Matthews

I have been working in the construction industry since 2008 specializing in building envelope technologies. I began my career in the field as a sheet metal apprentice where I completed my Red Seal accreditation as a Sheet Metal Journeyman. After earning my Red Seal I began the transition into working in a office management role; Starting out as a Project Coordinator in 2013 was a fantastic experience and welcome new challenge. After 7 years in Project Management I completed my Gold Seal Certification degree in May 2021. Most recently working as a Construction Manager; I continued to expand my role, overseeing all active envelope projects and daily operations developing a strong culture for successful project delivery and safety front of mind. I have a passion for green, sustainable community living and enjoy working towards an environment we can all work, play and thrive in. I have always loved creating a safe and healthy community that we can all appreciate developing together. I truly enjoy the daily challenges we face in such a fast paced environment and love working with all different interest groups to deliver outstanding outcomes for the future of real change!
