About Derek McEwan

An experienced and conscientious Document Controller with over 30 years' experience working in Construction, Shipping, Administration and Oil and Gas Industries. Computer literate and with extensive experience in using the Aconex platform. My job history below provides further details.Away from work I have a long-standing interest in art and design (both from an art history perspective and doing my own illustration work), and have for many years been interested in natural history and conservation, which have included periods helping to run local nature conservation groups in East London and Reading. Latterly I have become increasingly interested in freshwater ecology, and enjoy participating in pond-dipping, volunteering for practical conservation projects and wildlife surveys and working with community groups to try to stimulate an enthusiasm for the natural world amongst younger people. I am also a long-standing supporter of Actionaid and I'm proud to have sponsored several children in the Gambia through their schooling. My contributions now help a community group in Guatemala.
