For the past decade, his industry experience has included various engineering and M&A roles, primarily in Alberta natural gas. Alongside, he’s focused on sharpening complementary skills in financial modelling, process engineering, economic evaluation and business operations. Significant volunteering commitments, including finance and leadership positions (not-for-profit treasurer and director), have provided continued supplementation to his technical growth. He is able to manage a budget, mentor, tackle challenging projects, design to code, communicate effectively, navigate conflict resolution, and innovate in a variety of environments. Derek brings a proven ability to commit and deliver. He can get into the nuts-and-bolts of any operation to smooth upsets, driving continued improvement.
