About Derek Picone

With nearly 20 years of experience working in the technology field a lot has changed, but the one thing that hasn’t is my drive to ensure that technology is having the greatest positive influence it can for the students, employees, and anyone else that experiences my work. Regardless of if it’s k-12 students, college students, faculty, or employees they are all humans and I’ve managed to develop a specialty around understanding how to optimize the utilization of technology to be a transparent assistance to all rather than a hinderance getting in the way. Trust, Respect, and Transparency are the keys to collaboration, without it no entity can succeed. Using these values I’ve managed to lead with a collaborative approach that improves the moral and strength of any team, within IT or across an institution. Approaching every situation with a creative view I’ve developed a knack for pushing the boundaries of what is possible to ensure that every system and department is able to operate to its best potential.
