Recently appointed a new CEO of the joint venture, to become Chairman of JSW Severfield Structures Ltd, Severfield plc's 50:50 joint venture with JSW Steel Ltd. Having negotiated, structured and formed the joint venture and organically grown the business from start-up, to a substantial business of over of structural steel, the focus is to accelerate this growth, profitably, to over and turnover of circa $0.6bnpa, in the short to medium term. My focus and the focus of the JV Board, is to support the executive in continuing to achieve the strategic growth of the company given the pure growth in demand in the market, as well as increasing conversion opportunities for steel in construction, diversification options, and expansion of sales in to near international markets. This growth to be achieved, through strong governance, the management of risk in the construction sector, excellent health and safety, and project delivery solutions of high sustainability. An exciting and demanding role given the many challenges and required disciplines of a fast moving, maturing market. As a board member of Severfield Plc and the Indian JV, and as a partner to a substantial company like JSW Steel Ltd I find my former experience as a senior Director and Board Member in the steel industry and connected businesses very valuable assets. I am also Chair of JSW Structural Metal Decking Ltd, in India, which is also delivering good growth on behalf of its shareholders.
