About Derek Reed

I make behavioral science actionable—helping organizations and practitioners drive change that lasts. I am a behavioral scientist with 20 years experience and over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications. I have worked in both clinical and academic settings. My expertise is in the quantitative analysis of behavior, particularly in decision science, nudges, and behavioral economics. Areas of application include public health, consumer science, employee performance, and learning. I coauthored a best-selling textbook, Introduction to Behavior Analysis and have co-edited several books on behavior analysis, sports, and autism (https://tinyurl.com/Reed-Springer-Books). My work has been discussed or featured in outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Psychology Today. Currently, I direct the development of behavioral economic assessments, tasks, and analyses. We have emerged as a nationally recognized laboratory for these efforts and are involved in numerous multidisciplinary collaborations. These collaborations have resulted in funding across a diverse array of entities such as the Army Research Institute, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy. I have the expertise, experience, and interest in taking on new projects in domains such as consumer research, employee performance assessment, risk, and health.
