I'm a RN/Occupational Health Nurse (dual nationality - Canadian/Portuguese), with 20+ years experience in various settings: Oil & Gas (Drilling & Production), Emergency Room, and used to working in remote/austere sites (Humanitarian Missions & UN mission in Mali), both solo and/or as a part of a team. Completed an Occupational Health Nursing degree, through combination of blended learning (face to face & online), with an internship at Auto Europa Volkswagen car factory in Portugal. Occupational Hygiene enthusiast, I have become an Associate of the British Occupational Hygiene Society's Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH), by completing the M506 course. Currently working in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, as DNO’s Iraq Medical Manager/Advisor, since 2024. I've got a particular interest in Sports Nursing field of expertise (my Nursing Degree thesis was about the role of a Sports Nurse in a professional football club, with an internship at Sporting Clube Portugal) and I've completed other internships in different football clubs. I am fluent in 4 different languages (English, Portuguese, French, Spanish), along with rudimentary use of Kurdish, Congolese Lingala and Cape Verdean Creole.
