About Derek Robbie

Hello, my name is Derek Robbie, and I have a passion for going fast. My parents say from an early age I demonstrated the desire to be in constant motion and showed a competitiveness spirit. In my early years it was running around the yard and then I progressed to racing around the driveway for hours on end. I was 8 years old when I started my racing career in Quarter Midgets at Little T Speedway on the grounds of the famous Thompson International Speedway. While in quarter midgets I raced in Jr Novice, Sr. Honda, Light and Heavy 160, Sr. Stock and World Formula. I logged many laps in both practice and on race day. Along the way I also became very involved the preparation of my cars. I had a desired to not only learn about driving but what make them go as well. From quarter midgets I moved Micro Sprint racing at Whip city Speedway in Westfield, Ma. I raced here for 1-1/2 years and generated 6 wins and almost 20 top tens in less than 25 races. Presently I race in the Pro4 Modified's of New England series. This is a racing series consists of light weight open wheel cars utilizing modified 4 cylinder engines. I love to drive but I’m also very involved in the preparation of the cars. I believe knowledge is power and I want all the power I can get for my racing. In 2011 I was awarded a scholarship to Tony Blanchard’s RACE101 Driver Development program where I received training on car dynamics, presentation skills, and team and self-marketing. All of this extra development has been extremely beneficial as I’m using my new found skills into success on the track and during my search for marketing partners. I always enjoy meeting new people and hope to continue to network with as many people here as possible in the quest to make the correct connections to aide me in furthering my racing career. Specialties: Marketing, Social Media, networking, Race Car preparation.
