About Derek Vannice

Derek is currently the CSO and President of the newly integrated Eocene Environmental Group. Eocene is is made up of four divisions Environmental, Forestry and Utility, Sustainability and Technology and Innovation. Prior to the integration of these operating companies, Derek managed the operations of one of the industries fastest growing utility vegetation management consulting firms. Derek provides his expertise in utility vegetation management, process management, customer relations training and QA/QC. Throughout his career, Derek has conducted numerous group and individual leadership training exercises for employees and volunteers. Derek has facilitated strategic planning sessions for volunteer organizations and businesses throughout North America. Derek has given presentations around the world on topics ranging from leadership to utility vegetation managment. Vannice served as the primary spokesman for the utility arboriculture industry including expert testimony in regulatory hearings. Prior to his non-profit and consulting work, Derek worked 10 years in Utility Vegetation Management for two different investor owned utilities as a Transmission Forester and Division Forester.
