About Derek Vincent

I have nearly 20 years of professional work experience since completing my undergraduate degree. During that time I have gained useful skills that have been an asset at every organization I've been a part of. My most recent experience has been with the RETAIN project while working as a supervisor at the University of Kentucky Human Development Institute. This project was through the U.S. Department of Labor and included many partnerships such as the American Institute of Research, the Office of Disability Employment Policy, the Social Security Administration, UK Healthcare, U of L Health, the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, and many more. While at RETAIN, I guided a team of return to work specialists in assisting Kentuckians across the state who have experienced a non-work related injury or illness in returning to or staying at work. This project heavily utilized support from evidence based studies regarding return to work and stay at work best practices. Currently, I'm open to seeking new career opportunities to utilize my experience and skills. My main background involves working with individuals with disabilities and impairments, mentoring and coaching other employees, and supervising a diverse team to reach designated goals. I'm eager to learn new skills as well if any would benefit in my overall employability. I welcome any chance to grow while also contributing positively to an organizations mission and goals.
