About Derek Walsh

I am a graduate of DkIT, with a BSc (Honors) degree in Building Surveying (2.1 honors). After graduation I worked full-time with a Building Surveying and Architectural Practice performing a number of duties within this company. I recently worked with a distributer of hardware and software solutions to the surveying, construction, mining, forestry and agriculture industries. I held the position of Technical Sales Manager within the company, as well as providing technical support to customers on a day-to-day basis. I have furthered my education by completing the Award Certificate in Purchasing Fundamentals with the Irish Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management. Also I have completed the Building Energy Rating Assessor’s course (Level 6) in Cavan Institute, where I received a Distinction. I am a highly motivated person with strong people management skills and a good understanding of what it is to provide excellent customer service. In addition I am a person with confidence in decision making, having taken input from a number of different sources before deciding the best course of action. I would like to be seen as a person with a ‘can do attitude’.
