About Derek Weiss

I am a certified Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Mobility Specialist, and as such, use FRC concepts during treatment to improve, normalize, and optimize mobility and control over one’s body. This methodology allows me to help clients get more active, improve their movement, and improve performance in all aspects of life, from everyday activities to performance athletics. Whether recovering from an acute injury, chronic dysfunction, or following surgery, a goal-oriented approach is used to set up meaningful and achievable goals with patients to ensure the treatment plan is tailored to each individual person. I have experience working with private clients, athletes, WSIB claims, motor-vehicle accident claims, and the Canadian Armed Forces. I am certified to perform acupuncture and dry needling, and have taken courses in advanced soft-tissue release techniques, TMJ treatment, and manual-therapy techniques. I am also certified to provide Occupational Health Services such as Employment Testing, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and on-site Job Demands Analysis. I continue to be a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, the Ontario Physiotherapy Association and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
