About Derek Wingo

My name is Derek Wingo, I am from Fort Lauderdale Florida. I am here at UF as a student athlete going in my senior year as Linebacker on the football team. I am a very determined and well planned out young man. I would think that people describe me as someone who is very open and dedicated person. I want to be a successful and financially stable athlete as well as a business owner. My family is what drives me to become a better athlete and help plan for the future. I am best at being able to make a plan on how to get things done, with also being able to bring leadership and accountability to the table. I focus more on the small details and making sure things are done the correct way. I want to work in the broadcasting field having significance in sports. I see myself in 10 years being able to retire from the NFL and having my own restaurant as well as a personal gym while still working in broadcasting. I want to be able to connect with other business owners as well as athletes who have followed in the same path to learn what it took for them to get there.
