About Derick Bowen

Derick Bowen is a development economist with over 15 years experience in economic analysis, project management and experimental and quasi-experimental impact evaluation. He has designed, managed and evaluated projects in the agriculture, land, gender, education, health, microfinance, power and transport sectors, and has collaborated on projects in Benin, Ghana, Kosovo, Lesotho, Liberia, Mozambique, Niger, the Philippines, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Togo, Uganda and Vietnam. His recent research has investigated the relationship between personality traits and agricultural productivity, the gender gap in agricultural productivity, economic cost-benefit analysis of land and property rights projects, the welfare effects of a contract farming program, the effects of a public information campaign on the inclusion of women on land titles, and the effects of agglomeration on firm productivity. His work is published in and ℎ. Derick holds a Master in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) at the Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government.
