With over 30 years of IT experience, I am a seasoned Technical Specialist with a strong background in Mainframe development, particularly in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and MQ. My career has been marked by a series of successful roles in top financial institutions and consulting firms, where I’ve been instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing mission-critical systems.Currently, I’m at Nedbank, where I co-founded the COBOL Centre of Excellence, leading the training and upskilling of staff and driving the adoption of new technologies. I’ve played a pivotal role in projects like the development of a new dating system used by 98% of Nedbank's programs and have significantly improved developer efficiency for the new data access layer for Core Banking Databases.My experience extends to leading large-scale projects, such as the design and deployment of the Money Market Project at Strate LTD, and international stints with companies like Charles Schwab & Co, where I spearheaded the #1 project at the firm. I’m also adept in various programming languages and tools, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microfocus products.Passionate about technology and problem-solving, I thrive in environments that challenge my technical expertise and allow me to mentor and develop others.
